A weekend of walks based in the area of Grassington. Please book your own accommodation. Day 1 Friday 5th July Meet 2:00 Grassington National Parking Centre-Hebden Rd, Craven BD23 5LB £5.50 for full days parking. Toilets also available. Easy 8 mile walk to break us in gently! We will follow the Dales Way along the river Wharfe to Burnsall (one of the prettiest villages on the Dales Way) where there will be an opportunity for ice cream or a visit to the tearoom at Burnsall Bridge. We will return with a gentle climb via Hebden. Day 2 Saturday 6th July Meet 9:00 Grassington National c.p- details as above 18 Miles approx. 2000ft of ascent We will head out of the top end of Grassington village to follow the Dales Way north to the charming village of Kettlewell which is situated at the main valley of the Wharfe that descends from Covehead pass. From Kettlewell we will pick up a section of Lady Annes Way to the village of Starbotton where we will have the option for a drink or something to eat at The Fox & Hounds. In the afternoon we will head back to Kettlewell along the Dales way before swapping back to Lady Annes Way for our trek back to Grassington. Saturday Night-Evening meal in Grassington I have booked a table for an evening meal in a local inn (The Devonshire) however I will need to know numbers before making the booking. Day 3 Sunday 7th July Horsehead Moor and Birks Fell from Buckden-12.5 Miles approx. 2000ft Meet 9:00 c.p north of Buckden GR SD942775 Post Code BD23 5JA Starting from The Buck Inn we head to the summit of Horse Head before continuing along Horse Head Moor to Sugar Loaf, Birks Fell & Firth Fell on a circular walk back to Buckden. There is a fantastic pub in Buckden where we could chill for the rest of the afternoon or if anyone is really keen to keep going I have another route from Buckden of 9 miles to completely finish you off!
