This is the first day of our joint weekend with West Yorkshire LDWA. A linear walk from Holy Island to Wooler. A bus will be organised to take us at 8:00am from Wooler ( exact pick up point to be clarified at later date) to Holy Island - a bus journey of about 40mins. So we meet in Wooler at 8:00am to get on the bus to take us to Holy Island

Linear walk. We start by crossing from Holy Island to the mainland using the Old Pilgrims Path. This is the 3 mile intertidal route marked by a line of poles across the sands. This is terrific experience, taking shoes and socks off and walking barefoot across the sands. Bring a small towel to dry feet at the end of the Pilgrims Path. We then continue on St Cuthbert's Way in a general SW direction across the coastal plain of Northumberland back to Wooler. We may have a slight diversion off St Cuthbert's Way at Doddington Moor above Wooler to view the famous cup and ring marked stones which are plentiful there

Paul Ashman will be leading the walk on the day.
