Three Peaks of Cheviot
Involving visiting the three shapeliest peaks in the Cheviot Hills of Northumberland: The Schill, Widy Gyle and Hedgehope. 30 miles, 6,500 feet of ascent and mostly over very difficult terrain. It is a significant physical challenge and requires careful navigational skills. There is an option of 40 miles if the walk is started and finished in Wooler.
This walk was developed by Gwyn Rose. Our thanks are due to him for transferring it to the Northumbria Group of the Long Distance Walkers Association on in 1987. In July/August 2025 members of NLDWA walked the route several times with the
purpose of re-writing the route description on and updating the GPX file available.
