A LAKELAND YOMP - 17.5.14

Ian explained the day's route to the assembled group of ten, comprising 5 members and 5 visitors; saying we would decide at the top of Bow Fell whether to continue on to Scafell Pike. We then set off from Old Dungeon Ghyll in glorious weather.

On the way up to Pike of Blisco leader, Ian, nominated Clare in charge of breaks and Julie the official photographer for the day!! The sun shone all day and the views were spectacular but there was a cold wind on the tops. Lunch was on top of Bow Fell where we all decided it was too late to go onto Scafell Pike

Our route visited Pike of Blisco, Crinkle Crags, Bow Fell and Esk Pike then descended to Esk Hause and back via Angle Tarn and Rossett Ghyll, finishing off with a well-deserved drink in the Old Dungeon Gill Hotel.
