2024 Hundred Qualifier - Potter Around the Otter

POTTER AROUND THE OTTER

2024

Having held the 2023 event as a qualifier for this year's hundred, we were very pleased with the response and have decided to hold it again this year and open it up to more of our LDWA colleagues as well as non members

So, we have done a bit of tweaking and have come up with this year's offering.

This year's event will be held on 12th-13th October and we have moved the base to Budleigh Salterton Town Hall EX9 6RN to provide parking near the base.

Following on from last year’s event with a new base, generously spaced checkpoints and easy navigation make for a good event for both long distance veterans and those on their first 50 mile event.

The Event starts by following the South West Coast Path before heading inland on the East Devon Way, where it meets back up with the River Otter. This is then followed inland. The second half of the route makes its way back towards the coast along the wider Otter Valley and Woodbury Common

There will be one route of 50 miles to be completed in 24 hours with entrants able to start at any time between 9.00am  and 1.00pm. Runners will be encouraged to start at a time suitable to their speed and ensuring that they don't reach the checkpoints before they open.

Full route description and GPX will be provided closer to the event.

Participants must be 18+, although 16-17 year olds may take part if accompanied by legal guardian

The entry fee will be £30 and entrants must have completed a 25 mile walk previously.
