John Whitworth has asked me to pass on the following message to everyone who is intending to participate in tomorrow's walk from Topley Pike in the Peak District:
The weather tomorrow is forecast in the Peak to be Baltic compared with the temperatures we currently have in the Amber Zone.
It's forecast to be 24-25 degrees Celsius. There is a risk of thunderstorms and heavy showers from 6.00pm onwards but, hopefully, we'll be back by then.
The first 5 miles of the walk are mostly shaded.
Please ensure that you have plenty of fluids, sun cream, etc as, despite it being cooler, there is still a risk of heat associated issues.
