Dorset LDWA

Dear All,

Traditionally, on the day of the Dorset LDWA AGM, we have a morning walk followed by lunch, and this frequently attracts members who don't walk with us very often. For obvious reasons we are having a different format this year, but it would be really good to see some of those less familiar faces out walking with the more regular walkers.

To this end, I would like to try to offer a variety of walks over the weekend of 7th and 8th November, covering all areas of Dorset so no-one has to travel too far. On Sat we could offer full or half day walks, and on Sun there would only be time for a short afternoon walk (remember the sun sets at 16:30 at this time of year).

If you would like to lead a walk, please contact me using the details below.

In response to the permission to have up to 30 people on an LDWA walk (with a risk assessment) and the subsequent introduction of the 'Rule of Six', people have been asking for clarification both locally and nationally. The LDWA National Executive Committee has produced answers to some frequently asked questions for organising and leading social walks in England from 14th September 2020.  Please note that rules, restrictions and guidelines apply only DURING the walk and not to any pre- or post-activities where government restrictions on social activities apply.

The FAQs are available online on the LDWA website.

In Dorset we have some members who are happy to walk in larger numbers and some who prefer smaller groups, we will continue to offer a variety of group sizes and publish the maximum number of walkers for each walk.

I look forward to receiving some your suggestions for the AGM weekend, or any other time.

Best Wishes,

Anne Brown
