Following the Government announcement this week about the tightening of regulations on meeting in groups, the LDWA NEC is seeking clarification over whether LWDA social walks with a risk assessment are exempt from the limit of 6 participants.
Until such clarification is provided it would be wise to assume that, for the foreseeable future, walks will be limited to 6 maximum and therefore will not need a risk assessment. There is only one walk in our programme which had planned for a larger number, and contingencies are being put in place to instead run two walks with 6 participants on each.
Do please consider if you could lead a walk in October because at the moment we have no more walks planned after the end of September. This is a lovely time of year for walking, and members are really appreciating the efforts of leaders who have come forward - thank you.
