Dorset LDWA

Hi All,

The Dorset Ramblers have been approached by one of the rangers on the Lulworth Estate asking for volunteers to help remove the litter accumulating in and around Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, which their regular volunteers are unable to keep up with. They’ve done some litter picks recently with other user groups (climbers on crags, kayakers on the water) and need help in clearing some of the lesser used footpaths, that the ranger team don’t get to walk very often.  Apparently it’s likely there would be smaller amounts of litter there, but it is accumulating as no-one has the time to go and look. The idea is that he will give people (hopefully enjoyable) routes to walk, of a length suitable for them, and he will provide all the necessary insurance, risk assessment, protective equipment, rubbish bags etc

The ranger's name is Derek Billings and his email address is derek.billings@lulworth.com

Robert and I have been in touch with Derek and been told he is planning the litter pick on Friday the 21 Aug, meeting in the car park at Durdle Door at 9.30 am. If anyone would like to join us please email Derek directly, to let him know you would like to help and he will give you the details.

Please note, this is activity is not being organised by the LDWA and will not therefore be covered by our insurance.

Hoping to see some of you there on Friday.

Pat
