Hi All,

Please see a message from Julie Cribb below:

Hope you are safe and well and managing to get out for walking at some point in your days.

You may have seen the activity on Facebook and on the LDWA website regarding the Coronavirus 100 mile Challenge event, which involves logging real walking managed during an hour of exercise each day during May. As a concept this has been very successful and has brought quite a number of people together on the associated Facebook page sharing their photos, walks and comments.

Well, we are also running another event, but a virtual one this time, the Virtual Y 100 Sir Fynwy, based very much on the work and effort that has gone into the planning and development of the real one, that had to be cancelled at very short notice.  More details are on the website in the  News item on the Virtual Y Sir Fynwy.   There is also a post on the LDWA Facebook site for anyone who wants to see further information.  There are two aspects to the event:  the social side on Facebook echoing the schedule of the real event; and a real time tracker for anyone wanting to actually do any walking.

We are hoping to celebrate the real event with this virtual 100 - all the fun but with fewer blisters - except for some people who might want to do significant distances within the confines of their own homes. It is also possible for people to just walk the distance and self-check themselves through virtual checkpoints if they don't want to, or can't access, the social side on Facebook.

The more people involved the more fun we will all have,  Perhaps the one and only LDWA 100 that all of our members can join in :-)

Thank you

Kind regards

Julie Cribb
