You are invited to attend the AGM of the Dorset Group of the Long Distance Walkers Association which will be held at The Kingcombe Centre, Toller Porcorum DT2 0EQ, at 3pm on Sunday 1 December 2019. Only primary members of the group can attend the AGM. If you want to bring someone with you who has primary membership of a different LDWA group, or who is not an LDWA member, this will need to be agreed by the committee, so please let me know well in advance.

Prior to the AGM there will be a group walk in the morning, led by Dave Green (more details to follow nearer the time). For those who are attending the AGM, a buffet lunch will be available at The Kingcombe Centre at 1pm. The group will pay for your lunch (but not drinks), if you are a primary member of the Dorset Group and you attend the AGM afterwards.

Nominations for Officers and Committee Members
Please send to me, at dorset.ldwa.secretary@gmail.com, nominations for officers and ordinary committee members. These must be received by me no later than four weeks before the AGM, i.e. by Sunday 3 November. Nominations are very welcome for any of the positions or to be an ordinary member of the committee (we are would very much like to expand the committee, with more members). The officers are Chair, Group Secretary, Treasurer, Walks Secretary and Events Secretary. Nominations must have a proposer and a seconder and, of course, the agreement of the person nominated.

If you want to know more about what being on the committee involves or more details of any of the positions, I will be happy tell you what I know, or to find someone who knows more about it to talk to you. Please don't be put off from enquiring!

Motions
Motions for consideration at the AGM must also come to me, at dorset.ldwa.secretary@gmail.com, no later than four weeks before the AGM, i.e. by Sunday 3 November. All motions should have a proposer and seconder.

I will be sending out the agenda and final arrangements for the AGM before Thursday 14 November, including details of the nominations and motions received.  There will also be an update on the group walk in the morning.
