Here is a final update to all volunteers for the event on 13-14 April 2019. Please see a link below to the final Dorset Giant event plan.

This includes grid references and times for the various checkpoints and drink stops we are using. For those helping with catering at HQ, Wey Valley School (WVS), this overall plan only shows overall times not your specific times. Deirdre has now agreed tasks and times with you and sent you a detailed catering plan.

Mobile numbers. Please could you let me have your mobile number if you have not already done so.

Parking at WVS. You can park in any unrestricted parking space in the school grounds, but a few spaces (probably those on the left of the entrance) will be held for any marshals who arrive after the start when the car park is full of entrants' cars.

First aid. If you have a valid first aid certificate please could you let me know as soon as possible.

Food safety and checkpoint hygiene. See the notes prepared by Deirdre at

Meal at HQ. Marshals who aren't at HQ (and indeed those who are)- checkpoints, sweepers etc - are welcome to have a meal at HQ at the end of their duty or whenever. We do not need to know numbers.

Parking marshals. It would be helpful if parking marshals could bring an HV jacket, if they have one. We can provide if necessary.

Sweepers. Sweepers will receive a separate briefing in the next few days.

Expenses. Don't forget you should claim travelling expenses incurred in travelling to and from wherever you are stationed - see https://www.ldwa.org.uk/Dorset/W/5715/expenses.html for instructions and form.
Claims should be emailed or posted to our Treasurer Robert Powell for approval and payment.
