Dorset LDWA

This email has been sent to Dorset Group Cinque Ports volunteers only.
Here is a final update. Apologies for the delay (I was waiting for a final piece of information).

1. Timings. The school hall will be available to us from 6pm on Saturday. A few of us will be arriving on the Saturday evening to set up, those expected for that are Deirdre, Mike, Richard, Sandra, and myself. For those on the final shift on Sunday (1400-1800), do not expect to leave before 1800 at the earliest.

2. Location details.

St Eanswythe's School, Folkestone
Address
Church Street, Folkestone
Postcode
CT20 1SE
Grid Ref.
TR 229 359

3. Parking. You get to the school car park (which is the playground), from the A20, via the A259 then A2033, then Rendezvous Street, then Bayle St, then The Bayle (Guildhall pub on left just before). AA route finder will give you directions all the way to the school if you enter "St Eanswythes C Of E Primary School, Folkestone, UK". Do not attempt to approach via Church Street as there is a barrier. The car park/playground should be open.

Here is a link to a photo of the entrance to the car park, which is by the Dance Easy Studio:

4. Shifts. Here is a link to the spreadsheet to remind you of your shifts:

This also shows whether you have opted for a meal at Duke of York’s Royal Military School HQ in Dover after we finish.

5. Sleeping. As stated in an earlier email, there is a large stage in the hall which we are told we can use. This will provide a sleeping facility, if you are not on duty. We are told there are sleeping mats, but please bring a sleeping bag (and a mat if you want your own). It will be rather uncomfortable and noisy, sorry.

6. Access to the Duke of York’s Royal Military School (Dover) (for those who are going there). At the main entrance to the school, inform the LDWA marshal on duty that you are a marshal. He or she will be handing out green passes to marshals and directing them to the car park (the Parade Ground). You need to display the passes in your cars and hand them back to the marshal when you leave.

7. Catering (for entrants and for us). Deirdre has sent a separate email about this, costs of our food will be paid by Dorset Group.

8. Expenses. A reminder to claim travel expenses from Robert if you are a driver or travelling to Kent by public transport. This is in accordance with the resolution passed at the AGM last year. See - https://www.ldwa.org.uk/Dorset/W/5715/expenses.html

Any late problems with your availibility or preferences, please let me know asap as per below or to dorset.ldwa.secretary@gmail.com  (do not reply directly to this email). Also make sure you have my mobile number (below) in case of problems. Chris's number may also be useful (but do not ring him on Saturday evening as he will be sweeping!) - 07526 663749. Thanks again for being part of all this.
