Calling Druids, Sun-worshippers, Insomniacs or anyone with nothing better to do:
The Re-Tired Walk planned to greet the 2017 Summer Solstice sunrise will take place over the night of Tuesday 20th June to the morning of Wednesday 21st June. The ambition, weather etc. depending, will be to witness the dawning sun 04.10am, from a suitable viewpoint on the Isle of Wight.

The Details:
Meet at the Wightlink Ferry car park in Lymington, GR: SZ 334954

Car parking at the ferry terminal will cost around £8.50 for up to 24 hours so car sharing will help to minimise this....make your own arrangements if possible, but anyone wanting a lift is welcome to post via the Secretary (before 19 May)  or if all else fails let me know.....before 31st May.

Crossing as foot passengers will cost approx £15-£16 and takes around 40 minutes. We want to catch the 8pm ferry and need to get tickets sorted in good time! (7.30 at latest in case busy etc.) Once on the island we will adjourn to a nearby hostelry to make sure fully hydrated before the walk and depart no later than 10.30pm. (...ie before we are asked to leave!)

The walk will proceed to a viewpoint to witness the sunrise at 04.10 approx - around 10 miles from start, completing the walk by a slightly shorter route back to Yarmouth. We will then have breakfast and return by ferry around 10.00am at latest. To help making a breakfast arrangement I need to know numbers no later than 31st May (I am away for the 2 weeks following so need numbers before I go! ) Usual drinks and snacks to see you through the night also required.
