Hi Mike, Could you please forward to all members.

Dr Livingstone I presume? 16th August 9.00am

This walk takes in the wildest and least known tracks I'm aware of in West Dorset. For that reason I recommend everyone brings a walking pole as there's likely to have been recent growth in some sections. No pub stop on this one so make sure you bring ample food & drink (and even a machete maybe!)

Parking
The start at SY547973 (Powerstock Common) only provides parking for about 4 cars. However, if you drive 100m or so into the nature reserve you'll discover another parking area for 4 more cars. All the same, parking for 8 is limited so I'd strongly recommend car sharing whenever possible.

Warning
Some sections of the walk are precipitous and may involve a little crawling and scrambling. There is also some risk of exposure to Ixodes ricinus nymphs. For anyone concerned, I'd recommend staying near the rear of the group and indulging in a good soak and complete change of clothes when you get home. Although only 17 miles due to the sometimes rough the terrain we may get back later than normal.

Not sure if that's got everyone excited or it means I'll be walking on my own!

See you Sunday,
