Colin has offered to run a Navigation Course for those who would like to enhance their navigation skills, this may also give members the confidence to lead walks.
The idea would be to deliver the course in two parts. The first would be a single day somewhere in Dorset; and the second two days in wild country (probably Dartmoor or Bannau Brycheiniog).
In order to be able to teach navigation properly Colin will need to limit the numbers to six people.
The course may be run in April next year, the first part (the Dorset bit) on either Saturday or Sunday 6th/7th April, the second part during the week sometime during the week commencing 22nd April. There is some flexibility with dates, to be agreed between those interested in the course.
Regarding costs, there would be no cost for the Dorset course, but all participants would need to have a copy of OL15 map and a good quality compass.
For the course in wild country, again all would require a 1:25k map of the area and a good quality compass. The initial plan would be for everybody to book their own accommodation and then they could decide what sort of cost/luxury they want. If there is enough interest we could look at some sort of group accommodation.
