Tour of the RNLI Lifeboat Centre, West Quay Road, Poole, BH15 1HZ
Liz Murray has worked for the RNLI as a volunteer, and arranged for the Dorset group the following outing.
Many Dorset residents are not aware that at their West Quay facility the RNLI both manufacture their famous lifeboats and train their crews there.
For those intrigued by this entirely self-funded charity (they receive no government funding) there is the opportunity for an LDWA behind the scenes tour of the RNLI facilities – a chance to see how the volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards are trained and even have a go in a lifeboat simulator!
The 90 minute tour will cost £7.50 per person, with all proceeds going to the RNLI
Date: Wednesday 15th November.
Time: Two tours are being made exclusively available to us. At 10.30 and 14.00, with each limited to 10 people. Booking is essential.
