Page 58 of this month’s Strider mentions a book on the St James’ Way from the site of Reading Abbey to Southampton where medieval pilgrims would have set sail for the journey to the shrine of Santiago in Northern Spain.
This Friday through Sunday, Richard Brown will join two other walkers from the Confraternity of St James to walk this 110km route to Southampton. They will raise funds for some new signposting including a stone cross.
