Calling Colne Valley and Calderdale - Social Walk - THIS SATURDAY 27th June

Apologies to those of you who are on the West Yorkshire Group's Associate email list and will have already seen this message from Julia Warman, West Yorkshire Walks Secretary. Forwarded now for those who are not.....

"Abi's walk on Saturday is still going ahead. It goes without saying, please dress accordingly for hot weather conditions and carry plenty of fluids. Abi has addressed the situation re hot weather and has kindly arranged a drinks stop at around 11 miles so we can top up our water bottles etc. This will be out lunch stop. At around 16 miles there is a tea van where refreshments can be bought (cash or card).

The walk is around 24 miles with 4,600 foot of ascent. We aim to do the full route but obviously if circumstances change due to any issues that might arise with severe weather we can address alternatives. However, these additional drinks stops should help us on our way.

If for any reason a RED weather warning is issued before Saturday, watch this space!

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
