Hello Calderdale and Associate Members - a few items of news

NEXT GROUP MEETING 

will be held on Wednesday 18th June, 7.00pm at 5 Scarr Hill Cottages, Beestonley Lane, Stainland, HX4 9PP. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF VENUE. The main agenda items will be planning for this years Calderdale Crawl, Social Walks, and Branded Clothing but please let me know of anything else you wish to be raised. All welcome to attend

CROWS (Calderdale Rights Of Way Society)

£500 from the 2024 Calderdale Crawl was donated to CROWS. In acknowledging this, CROWS then asked the committee if we had any requests as to which projects they should tackle. It was agreed that some of the funds would be spent repairing the steps up through the woods across from Ripponden Bank. These steps are on the route of the Crawl. Some Calderdale Committee members are now joining CROWS in undertaking the work.

Social Walk - Wednesday 9th July - A Calderdale Evening Walk, 11 miles from Sowerby Bridge

Challenge Event - Saturday 2nd August - THE CALDERDALE CRAWL

Social Walk - Thursday 28th August - Moor-ish Littleborough, 21 miles (Joint with South Pennines Group)

CALDERDALE BRANDED CLOTHING

The committee are looking at ordering a number of Calderdale LDWA branded clothing items. Probably in the first instance to include T sheets, Sweatshirts and Hoodies. Details and prices are being finalised and will be circulated shortly. However, if you might be interested, please let me know (without commitment) as it will help us to judge potential demand.

THE DENHOLME DODDLE CHALLENGE July 26th

I have also been asked to publicise this challenge event taking place in the South Pennines. There are three distances available, 17 21 and 27 miles. All proceeds go to the Mpika charity which supports an orphanage in Zambia. Information and entry forms can be found on https://www.denholmedoddle.com
