About

The Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA) organise their ‘flagship’ 100 event each Spring Bank Holiday Weekend. This event entails walking 100 miles in 48 hours. It is held in a different area each year - and in 2017 it is in North Yorkshire. There will be about 500 people starting the event on the morning of Saturday 27th May 2017 and they will walk with only short breaks until they finish. The fastest will finish in about 24 hours, and the slowest in 48 hours. There will be runners and walkers spread along the route during the weekend during the day and also at night. They will cause minimal disturbance, but you may be surprised to see them, especially at night.

The route will start and finish in Malton and will be an clockwise route, visiting the Howardian Hills, Esk Valley to the coast and returning via the North York Moors and the Vale of Pickering to Malton.
