5 Swans A-Singing

Walk Details:
An easy going linear walk commencing at Monkseaton Metro Station & finishing at Wetherspoons Five Swans pub, St Mary’s Place, Newcastle Using good paths & with no serious ascents, we should encounter some lovely views along the coast & the Tyne riverside before reaching Newcastle quayside & city centre which are likely to be lit up in the dark. The route should take approx 7 hours incl 3 stops (Tynemouth, Royal Quays, Walker). The route follows the English Coast Path passing Whitley Bay, Cullercoats & Tynemouth. We then follow the riverside using the River Tyne Trail / Hadrian’s Cycle Way passing North Shields, Royal Quays, Willington Quay, Wallsend, Walker, St Anthony’s & St Peters before reaching the Tyne Bridge & heading up into the city centre
