Start point is Broompark Picnic Area c.p, DH7 7RJ. OS grid ref - NZ251415 Free all day with plenty of spaces for 30+ cars

From Broompark Picnic Area c.p walk follows circular route through Ushaw College - Esh Winning - Willington - Page Bank - Brandon back to Broompark c.p. Some of route takes in part of The Weardale Way
Lots of interesting local history - pit villages/manor houses/ burial mounds & even one of the many alleged sites where Cuthbert’s body was hidden before it arrived in Durham

Two stops at 7 and 14 miles

General Notes
Rolling countryside & woodland with no steep climbs. Generally good paths with one stretch of about a mile on a very quiet road. Dogs on leads allowed - a lot of paths across fields with cows/sheep so caution needed. Drinks after walk at the Stonebridge Inn: http://www.thestonebridge.co.uk/
