Start from Brighouse Railway Station.Start will wait for 0828 arrival of train from M/c.Victoria which calls at Walsden at 08.01 If parking at B.R.S.,hourly trains back from Walsden/ Todmorden/Hebden at 01 minutes past the hour

A beautiful [and challenging ]wooded route up the Calder valley

25 miles or 22 miles to Todmorden,or 17 miles to Hebden Bridge. c4700 ft ascent.Moderate/Brisk pace.Part of the South Pennines Walk and Ride festival

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
