  We warmly welcome new members and visitors.

For your first visit with our group, please come on one of our Moderate/Accommodating walks, which will introduce you to the group and the countryside of the South Pennines.

There is some great walking in the area.

Our area has many (but not all) routes, including considerable ascent/descent and crossing rough/wet ground.

Each walk in our programme has a description: Moderate/Accommodating, Brisk & Strenuous.

Enquire through walk leaders for any information regarding their planned walk.

Dog owners should always consult the leader in advance.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
