Newsletter - July 2026
Hi everyone.
Welcome to the second half of 2026. I hope you've continued to get out walking despite the recent heatwave. I been starting walks earlier than I normally would, including the recce for my next group walk. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, Sue has finally managed pin committee members down, and has arranged our next committees meeting for the 24th August. Hopefully we'll be in a position to book a venue for our AGM. If any member has anything that they wish us to discuss, please contact Sue at wiltshire.secretary@ldwa.org.uk. Don't forget, we're still looking for a treasurer.
Some of you will remember Dave Myers, who following completion of the Elephant, Bear and Bull 100, effectively retired from walking due to an injury. I bumped into him recently, and following knee replacement surgery, he is now walking well again. Who knows, we may see him out on one our future walks. I was pleased to be joined by Lorraine Norris on a recent ramble. Back in January, on my walk, Lorraine slipped on ice and broke her wrist. I'm delighted that she's nearly fully fit, and we look forward to seeing her on one of our walks in due course.
We have also been informed by Phil Heneghan that he has found an organiser for the Ridgeway 40. I'll share the details once we know more about the arrangement.
