For 2021 the SP24 will be a self supported Anytime Challenge Event open to LDWA members only to comply with insurance requirements (Sorry , NO non member entries) .

The entry fee is only £6.70 with five pounds from every entry donated to Oldham Mountain Rescue Team .

SP24 Anytime Challenge Event entrants snap their start and finish times from a clock displayed in the notice case at Dovestone Sailing Club ,answering twelve questions along the route . On completion email your snaps & answers to the entry secretary & receive an E-Certificate and a place on the SP24 results Hall of Fame (see Sientries listing) . A route description with the questions to be answered plus a walked gpx file of the route will be emailed from Monday 12 April & entrants have from Saturday 17 April until Saturday 14 August to complete the challenge .

Start from Dovestone Sailing Club ,Greenfield (via Bank Lane ,off A635 Holmfirth Road) with adjoining Pay & Display parking (currently £4.00).

The 24 mile route, with 3930ft of ascent, is a fantastic foray into the Dark Peak and the South Pennine Moors.  A variety of terrain will be encountered from wild moorland to well graded footpaths and bridleways.  Hopefully you will enjoy the stunning views the area has to offer.

Please note the SP24 Anytime Challenge Event is self supported and self navigated with no SP24 waymarking or taping along the route . There is a shop at 14.4 miles in Hollingworth to replenish supplies .
