Fifth Friezland walk Sat Dec 19th 2015

Six of us, plus leader (Anne) met for the "annual Friezland walk", slight change to the start this year, that the mince pies and coffee / tea dispensed from Anne's kitchen at 427, rather than the car park. From the outset numbers could have been reduced by one,  as our chairman Mr Underdowns had left his waterproofs at home, and with the forecast looking damp, his excuse did not last, as leader managed to source a suitable jacket for him.  So, off we went, uphill within 5 mins, but then onto Brushes and Swineshaw reservoirs, and a quick brew stop.

The crossing of Ormes Moor was not that bad underfoot considering the recent rain, in fact Zara managed to sink her feet into avoidable sodden peat whilst walking along the edges to Alphin Trig.  Clearly photo call for Anne ..... Trig hopping became the theme for fffff50th birthday year !!  Lunch stop at Fernlee, and then via plantation to meet the bridge on Chew Road, around the res, via papermill and along the canal back to the start...... 18.5 miles, 3000ft of ascent, you can have an extra mince pie now.

Happy Christmas to everyone.
