2015 01 08 Foulridge Frolic

Although marked on the OS map as a public car park, the parking at Foulridge Wharf now turns out to be private and for the use of cafe customers only. At least they couldn't stop us standing and meeting at the wharf! Welcome to 2015.

A murky skyline greeted us and off we went up Noyna Hill and Great Edge. The distant views of Yorkshire Dales were not visible today so we had to make do without. Via Laneshaw Bridge to the pretty village of Wycoller with its ancient bridges across the stream. A brief break and then a 10 mile strtech of the Pennine Bridleway which made for fast progress together with some stunning views. Parts of the PBW are on newly negotiated paths and therefore new walking for many.

Back at the cars at 3pm with at least 18 miles in the bag. Nine contented people., plus Paige the dog.
