An early morning breakfast of muffins and coffee from Greggs, then onto platform 7 for the slow train to Chester. Many of the numerous stations passed recalled walks past and maybe future walks. At Chester Station the usual suspects were present together with Cheshire Set Newcomers Diane and Jean. Soon after starting the walk Diane was surprised as we went past her house (no invite for coffee or tea cakes), and then onto the Longster Way. Charming Cheshire villages were visited as we made our way to the Sandstone Trail and the Eddisbury Way. After lunch we joined the Bakers Way, where at the walk checkpoint we all produced our Victoria Sponges. A final spurt along the Shropshire Union Canal proved fruitless as we missed our appointed train. This had a bonus as we then made our back to Manchester in the comfort of Virgin Trains. Thanks to all those attended and made it such an enjoyable day.
