2026 South Pennine 24
The South Pennine 24 takes place on Saturday 28th February 2026.
This 24 mile route with 3900 feet of ascent is a fantastic foray into the Dark Peak and the South Pennine Moors. A variety of terrain will be encountered from wild moorland to well graded footpaths and bridleways. Hopefully you will enjoy the stunning views the area has to offer.
The event is open to all walkers and runners who are competent and suitably equipped at taking part in long distance events during the Winter months. A route description & walked gpx file of the event route will be emailed to entrants. The event headquarters and start will be Dovestone Sailing Club, Greenfield (via Bank Lane ,off A635 Holmfirth Road) with adjoining Pay & Display parking (currently £4.70): please car share if possible.
Flexible start times . Registration from 0745 until 0900 . Earliest start time 0800 . If registering after 0800 set off straightaway : the time you register is your start time . Slower walkers earliest , quicker walkers/joggers from 0830 and fell runners closest to 0900 . All to finish by 1800 : Ten hour limit .
The event will be fully supported with drinks / pastries from 0730 , food and drink at four checkpoints with soup at the finish . Certificate to all finishers on request .
