As many of you will already know The Wellington Boot is a challenge walk run, every 3 years, by the Cornwall and Devon Group, as part of the South West Triple Challenge. It is a 62.5 mile walk, starting in Wellington, Somerset and participants have 26 hours to complete it. The event had to be cancelled this year because of Covid 19 and has been rescheduled for next year on 17 & 18 April 2021, government guidelines permitting.
Our group usually helps on this event by running a checkpoint and I have been contacted to ask if we will do so again next year. The checkpoint we have been offered is the first one, so I expect we will be needed there on Saturday 17 Apr, but hopefully not too late in the day. The committee are going to discuss this at our next virtual meeting (2 July) and in the meantime I would be very happy to hear from anyone willing to help with this checkpoint, particularly if you feel you could lead on this.
