Hi All,
The ground conditions along the Fleet and back through Buckland Ripers are likely to be pretty testing (muddy). We will therefore be following a different route north to the Ridgeway and back which will keep us out of the mud although in places it will be a touch moist underfoot. Lunch stop is the 'Old Ship' Upwey:

Hi All,
Following our successful viewing of the Summer Solstice sunrise we're going to chance our arms again with another attempt on the shortest day Friday 21 December from the Nothe Fort (SY686786) looking across Weymouth Bay.
Park along Bincleaves Road or BelleVue Road Weymouth and meet 07:50 on the Green overlooking Newton's Cove and Bincleaves SY682782. Breakfast will be at Wetherspoons Weymouth and lunch at The Elm Tree, Langton Herring (http://theelmtreeinn.com/). Walk is 14 miles following the Fleet out and returning via Buckland Ripers and the Wey Valley. (Afternoon gpx link below.)
Sunrise is at 08:08 in direction of 128 deg.and sunset at 16:07 at 232 deg giving a day length of just under 7:59.
