This email is being sent to entrants for the Doddle West Marshals' Event only (copied to helpers).

Here are the final instructions for the Doddle West Marshals' Event on Sunday 25 February. It is only open to those who are helping on the main event or as agreed with me.

Pickup in Poundbury is now at 0720 (NOT 0730) - please note the changed time. Please meet outside Brownsword Hall in Pummery Square -
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=367772&Y=90209&A=Y&Z=106      grid reference SY677902

You will be transported to the start at Charmouth (Lower Sea Lane Car Park) grid reference SY365935

There are currently 21 entrants but I have only hired a 16-seater minibus so five people will need to come with either myself or Deirdre (thanks Deirdre). If you are making your own arrangements to get to Charmouth please let me know. Do not park in Pummery Square where there are restrictions on parking but in neighbouring streets. There is plenty of on-street parking in the vicinity.

There will be a mass start at 8.00 AM in Charmouth where I will take a group photo. Make sure we have got you ticked off. You will be timed at the checkpoints (old fashioned method) and at the finish so make sure we have got your time registered. Results will be emailed in due course after the event.

There are two checkpoints. No food or drink will be available until the first checkpoint at Burton Bradstock village hall (CP1) at 9.6 miles. The first section is strenous so you may want to supplement your emergency food and drink. The food and drink at CP1 will be cake, savoury snacks, hot and cold drinks, the food at Portesham (CP2) will be soup and sandwiches or rolls. Please bring a mug. There will be very limited food and drink (cake, cold drinks and possibly hot drinks available) at the finish which will be located outside (or underneath!) the Brownsword Hall in Pummery Square, Poundbury, so you may want to leave some additional refreshments in your car.

Please note checkpoint closing times - if you are past the closing time we will ask you to retire with (in due course!) transport back to Poundbury. Please note the cut-off time of 1500 at Portesham, in particular. If you think you might finish later than 1730, please bring a torch, and consider if you will be able to finish the event by 1800. Consider the weather conditions and that this is obviously an exposed route including the last section!
