The mystery has been solved! The walk will go from *Gillingham across the county boundary into Wiltshire.  A figure of eight will take us through the Town of Mere taking in  Castle Hill (see link) and a loop around part of the downs. The town has a shop and “facilities” we will pass through on the outward and return journeys. I would advise a packed lunch as not sure of the timing.
I made it 17 miles.

* PLEASE NOTE. The post code for Gillingham car park as printed in Strider is incorrect. The website version is the right one.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
