I am leading the group walk on Sunday 30 October, and here are some further details to supplement what is in Strider.

Lunch - there will NOT be a pub stop, so bring a packed lunch as usual.

Parking – please park at the village hall car park, location as per Strider. This is small, so please carshare if possible. If no room on the tarmac, you can park on the grass – which is underlaid by perforated matting. The hall will be opened for us to use the toilets. I will collect £1 per car toward village hall funds.

Directions – from A37: keep going past the left turning to Evershot. Take the next left turning, signed Melbury Osmond, which is 2.4 miles further on. Follow a narrow windy lane to a T-junction. Turn left, following sign saying “Village Hall”. Shortly after there is a track on the right leading to the hall. Unfortunately this is not signed. If you get to the church you have gone too far!

Hazards - we will be crossing the very fast A37 twice so please take extra care!! There is a difficult descent late in the walk to a stream which will require some care and agility.

Highlights - I hope to visit the wonderfully named village of Rime Intrinseca and Yetminster, Chetnole, Melbury Bubb and possibly Evershot, as well as two of the smallest churches in Dorset.  We will be revisiting Murderer's Lane!

If you have any questions please contact me as per below. Do not reply directly to this email as it is from an unmonitored email account used for outgoing messages only.
