Just a note, to thank everyone who supported the Dorset Doddle yesterday. A lot of hard work by a great team .
It went really well - everyone marshalling, and at the finish did a fantastic job. Yet again, I was amazed how well a small LDWA Group like Dorset manages to put on such a good event. When I looked out of the window at 8 am. yesterday, to see torrential rain, I feared we were all in for a really tough time. But the day turned out much better than the forecast and participants had a beautiful afternoon's walk in almost ideal weather
The "No Show" rate was higher than normally * expected, but given the forecasted conditions it was amazing that 200 actually turned up and they were rewarded for their courage and optimism by the greatly improved weather conditions after the first couple of hours .
