Dear member,

Welcome to the Dorset Group of the LDWA!

It has been a while since I have sent out a welcome email to new members.  However long you have been a member, you are very welcome and I do hope you have been able to join us on some of the social walks since joining. Our walks secretary works hard to coordinate a program of social walks, and you are very welcome to join us on any of these walks. Details of the walks can be found at:

Sometimes walk leaders ask members to contact them prior to the walk if they wish to go, but most are happy for members just to turn up on the day. See individual walk details for more information.

In addition to the social walks, our group organises two challenge events each year. Participants come from all over the country to navigate themselves around a set route and call in at checkpoints for refreshments. Places on challenge events must be booked in advance via the SiEntries website and there is a modest charge to enter. Our next challenge event, The Dorset Doddle, is to take place on 20August 2023.

We also organise occasional social events and residential trips away, just for Dorset Group members. You can find out about most of our events on the Dorset LDWA website:

The group committee will also send out emails with updates on walks, extra walks added at short notice and invitations to Dorset Group member-only events. If you would prefer not to receive these emails, and to have only the minimum communication required by our constitution, please let me know.
