Gaick Pass

Heading north up the Glen Edenon to Loch an Duin & Loch Bhrodainn, stopping at the Gaick Lodge for lunch. After the break the route continues along Glen Tromie to Speyside & the end point at Kingussie. All on good mountain paths & tracks with a short road section at the end. 820ft of ascent (250m)

Walk Report
There were 10 North of Scotland LDWA walkers for the Gaick Pass linear route from Dalnacardoch Lodge near the A9 to Bridge of Tromie near Kingussie. 5 members did the whole 25 mile route to Kingussie, whilst the other 5 went as far as the Bridge of Tromie (22 mile), where they were picked up by the striding driver, Roger, who strode ahead from Gaick Lodge with Tom to provide a taxi service. The group met at Kingussie at 9am, where they were picked up by the Speyside community bus and dropped off at the start at about 9.40am. There were frequent showers throughout the day, but this didn’t dampen the day too much and they kept ourselves entertained with two river crossings swollen by recent snow melt. The route was mainly on good vehicle tracks except for a short 1.5 mile section at the Loch an Duin watershed (between 6 & 8 miles into the walk), where it was boggy and then on a narrow traversing mountain track. A long walk along a historic route through the remote western Cairngorm glens.Other Files
