Starting the walk from Nairn rlwy stn
The route follows the riverside path from Nairn to Cawdor, where we will stop for a break (hot drinks & snacks available from the Cawdor Deli) then forest tracks to Croy where we will have a second cafe stop. Forest tracks then take us to visit the newly built village of Tornagrain
General Notes
Participants can park at the Inverness Airport rlwy stn c.p to catch the 9:06 train to Nairn if they wish to leave a car at the end point of the walk (note: parking at this station can be a problem - the alternative is to leave a car at Tornagrain & walk to the Airport rlwy stn from there). There are also frequent buses from Tornagrain & the airport. Dogs are welcome on the walk & at our café stops, however, we may encounter cattle on a short section of the riverside walk. Walk Report
Ten members and one dog enjoyed a 14 mile walk between Nairn Railway Station and Inverness Airport Railway Station. We followed the River Nairn to Cawdor, where we stopped for refreshments at the Cawdor Deli. Then minor roads and tracks took us to a second cafe stop at the Barn by Milk Bar at Croy. A short walk through the newly constructed village of Tornagrain then led to the airport station.Other Files
