Walk Report

Due to an injury cancellation and low numbers booking on this walk, only 2 members went on this walk, so we decided to do this route as a MTB recce for this 20 mile walk. Tom and Pete started at Nethy Bridge at 10am and cycled this loop route in an anti clockwise direction. The first 6 miles were on minor roads until the turn off onto An Slugan Pass path and onto the Glenmore Forest Park and the Ryvoan mountain bothy for lunch (14miles). From Ryvoan the forestry tracks took us through the RSPB Abernethy Forest and back to the start point at the Nethy Bridge VH. A 21 mile route on good forestry tracks and minor roads with lots of tree shelter, so a good route for when the weather is not suited to a higher level route through the Cairngorms.
