MMC Cairngorm Traverse Bus Meet - Lairig an Laoigh

Event Cancelled
Due to a forecast of stormy weather in the mountains over the weekend, this walk has been cancelled by the Moray Mountaineers on safety grounds. An alternative low level walk is being considered.

Cars can be left at Glenmore finish point (NH977097) for a bus pickup at approximately 8am The bus transfer to Linn of Dee will take about 1½ hours, so the walk will commence at about 9.30am
Linn of Dee to Derry lodge on good vehicle tracks, then up Glen Derry to the Lairig an Laoigh pass (740m) & down to the Fords of Avon for a lunch break(670m). A river crossing & then northwards to the east side of Bynack More to it's northern shoulder(790m) & onto Strath Nethy, then swinging west into Glenmore & the finish
General Notes
The number of participant is capped to 10 places on the bus & will be for experienced LDWA Members that can walk at a minimum pace of 3mph to ensure the walk is completed well before darkness. Participants will be expected to carry a map, compass, head torch & sufficient food & water needed, as well as some emergency food. There will be a charge of about £20 for the bus. Dogs will not be allowed on the bus
