Walk Report

4 North of Scotland LDWA members set off on this 14 mile walk at 0930hrs. Leave the B817 just north of Evanton. Follow the minor road up Glen Glass to the end of the road. Park by the white gates at the iron bridge over River Glass. Go over bridge, past Eileanach Lodge, turn right onto track heading north-west alongside River Glass. At NH536701 turn right, go through gate, cross concrete bridge over River Glass past white building. At track junction turn left heading towards Loch Glass. At next junction, go straight on through forest track alongside Loch Glass. Exit forest and climb up path to junction at NH533727, turn left, continue to 4-way junction on the western side of Meall an Tuirc. Go down past turbines on path on left. At end of path head down to bealach through moorland and peat hags, then climb broad south east ridge of Meall Mor. Follow rickety fence north west and then south south west to the trig point on summit. From here descend north west to Meall Beag, then north west to pick up a stalker’s path. Follow this to head of the loch, then the signed path at the back of Wyvis Lodge, passing cottages on your right. Turn left following the lochside path, past ‘the Pink house’ back to the car.
