Lochindorb to Grantown Canter Loop

Walk Details:
Heading SW on minor road then SE over the Dava Moor via Rynechkra & Glenbeg to Grantown for a lunch stop. Castle Grant Parklands to Dava Way, then following the Dava Way north & then NW on moorland farm tracks back to Lochindorb start point

5 members of the North of Scotland LDWA members completed this 20 mile loop walk from Lochindorb in dry warm conditions. The route to our lunch stop at Grantown-on-Spey was most over the good moorland vehicle tracks to the upper reaches of Glen Beg, before descending down the steep public road from Dreggie. From the highest point on the Carn Right ridge, there were magnificent views both north to Caithness and south to the Cairngorms. After lunch at Maclean's cafe we headed north through the Castle Grant parklands to the Dava Way and then eastwards after 5 miles onto the Limekiln farm track that took us back to the Lochindorb road and our start point.Other Files
