Ladycairn Loop
Sun 9th Feb 2025
Walk Details:
The walk leaves Inverness to take the Great Glen Way to Ladycairn, after which it takes a track to cross the hillside. This track is likely to be boggy - but at the end we will be rewarded with fine views of Loch Ness. We then drop down to Dochgarroch before returning to the city via the footpath alongside the Caledonian Canal - it may be getting dark by then, so it is advised to take head torches

Walk Report
10 members enjoyed a 23 mile walk from Inverness along to Great Glen Way to LadyCairn and back along the canal. The weather was mixed by the time we got back to Inverness it was dark, so head torches were needed for that last bit of the walk. it was great to welcome back Jenni who has not been walking with us for a while and also to see Graham who travelled up from his new home to walk with us. Many thanks to Shelagh Walker for leading such an interesting walk.Maps:
