Walk Report

6 North of Scotland LDWA members set off from Forres at 9am for our 1st cafe destination at Rafford Village Hall. The route went through the Sanquhar woods to connect to the Dava Way to Woodside and Rafford VH (6 miles). At this point 3 members opted for the shorter loop back to Forres, while the other 3 headed to Sourbank and up to Burgie Hill for magnificent views from the Moray Firth to the Cairngorms. The route then followed the Heldon Hill woodlands to the Garrowslack access point and then onto our 2nd cafe at the Snug in Alves (16 miles). At this point there was an option to take the bus back to Forres, but we all decided to take the back roads to bedrock via Burgie distillery and Arboretum. Popping into Tom and Elaine's for a brew on the way. This ended up being a 22 mile walk for the 3 remaining members and ended at the walk leaders house at Bedrock. A long day in great weather.
