Walk Details:
Splash in the Atlantic Ocean, then north through the town to the Ullapool River bridge, then east on private roads & tracks parallel to the river Loch Achall. Continuing east on low level tracks & paths to East Rhidorroch Lodge. NE on mountain tracks & paths to Knockdamp Bothy for lunch. Continue NE then east fording a small river & onto the Schoolhouse Bothy (16miles so far). East then SE to connect with Strath Cuileannach & the famous Croick Kirk at the Strathcarron road end (26mls). A very quiet minor road for 10 miles to Ardgay and a splash in the waters of the Moray Firth

Walk Report
9 North of Scotland LDWA members set off on this 36 mile C2C walk at 9.20am, after dipping their toes in the Atlantic Ocean waters at the Ullapool harbour. The rain was light, but persistent for the first half of the walk, but mostly cleared up by the time we got to the Schoolhouse Bothy. A very challenging walk to keep feet dry on the very rough wet sections of mountain tracks, with a few watercourses to cross as well. Walking boots are a must, if you want to keep dry, but it was good to change into trekking trainers for the last 10 miles of walking on the quite country lanes. All members completed the walk at Ardgay in under 13 hours and before darkness started to fall, so well done to all and a fantastic effort, with 3 members breaking their long distance walking PBs.Other Files
