Burgie Hill Cafe Loop

Walk Details:
The route will go on the east side of Forres & up to Burgie Hill through woodlands, fields and on a minor road, before heading down to Rafford for a late morning refreshments at the VH. The return to Forres will be through the Altyre woods & parklands & finally along Mosset Burn back to Grant Park

Walk Report
15 LDWA Members and 3 guests completed this walk on a dry sunny winter's day. Starting from Grant Park in Forres and walking up Cluny Hill to start with for the magnificent views north over the Moray firth. Then walking on the eastern outskirts of Forres to gain farmlands and Easter Newforres woods, before ascending Burgie Hill on a minor road and farm tracks. Down hill rom here, through woodlands and farmlands to our refreshment stop at the Rafford Village Hall community cafe. From the Cafe the group split into striders and strollers for the homeward leg through the Altyre Estate parklands, the Sanquhar Woodlands, and Cluny Wood.Other Files
