Fyrish from the far side
Sat 28th Oct 2023
Walk Details:
The route visits the spectacular Blackrock Gorge before heading into woodland to the Little Fyrish monument. We will then head for more open country up Glen Glass & Strath Mor to approach the Fryish monument (453m) from a little used track across the shoulder of Cnoc Ceislein. The descent from the monument is through forests to a cycle track returning to Evanton. The route is all on good tracks & paths & is suitable for dogs (however, dogs must be on leads while in the vicinity of the steep drops of Blackrock Gorge)

Walk Report
Most enjoyable Fyrish From The Far Side group walk today. It was 19 miles and there were 13 of us, plus three dogs, and led by Bea Jefferson. We started from Evanton and visited the spectacular (and very deep) Black Rock Gorge and then one of the two Little Fyrish monuments, followed by the 1468ft Fyrish hill, with its imposing monument built in the Indian style, offering marvelous extensive views across to Cromarty, and way beyond. Great walk and great company.Other Files
