Who Ate All The Pyes

On Saturday 18th April Yvonne Gulley led a Mid-Wales group walk from Penybont. Below is a short write up of the walk and some photographs by Deborah Light.

My second walk with the Mid Wales LDWA and it ticked all the boxes, It was superbly led by Yvonne Gulley who guided us over a well planned and varied route starting at Penybont. This clear and mostly sunny day provided panoramic views as far away as Pen-y-Fan. The small and touching extras in the way of sweets and an unexpected afternoon tea stop were definitely well received.

Highlight of the day was successfully reuniting a lamb with its Mum, especially as it looked well and truly dead. Definitely worthy of an oscar!

It was a pleasure for me to get better acquainted with the group. Having time to chat, laugh, take photos and end it all with a drink in the pub made this a truly social walk.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
